Visits at Driftwell
Every visit happens in a room with a window and a few toys, with a nurse and a doctor who explain things in plain words.

Sick visits
Fevers, ear pain, coughs that won't quit, rashes and stomach bugs. We hold same-day spots every weekday and on Saturday mornings.
What happens
- A nurse checks temperature, weight and breathing first
- The doctor examines your child and explains what's going on
- You leave with a plan, and know when to call back
What to bring
- Your insurance card
- What medicine your child has had today, and when

Checkups and shots
Well visits follow the American Academy of Pediatrics schedule: often in the first two years, then once a year. Shots happen at the same visit, so there's no second trip.
What happens
- Growth, development, hearing and vision checks for the age
- Time for your questions, from a short list we send ahead
- Shots last, with a sticker and a minute to cuddle
What to bring
- The shot record, if it's your first visit with us
- School or camp forms that need signing
Just need a flu shot or a catch-up dose? Book a quick nurse visit.

Newborn care
We see new babies at 3 to 5 days old, usually a day or two after you get home, then at one month. Between visits, we'll weigh your baby as often as you like, at no charge.
What happens
- Weight, feeding and jaundice checks
- Help with breastfeeding or bottles from a nurse who does this every day
- A plan for the first month, written down
What to bring
- The hospital discharge papers
- A spare diaper and outfit

Teens and physicals
Physicals for school, sports and camp, with the form signed before you leave. At every teen checkup the doctor spends a few minutes alone with your teen.
What happens
- Blood pressure, vision, and a heart and lung check
- A private conversation about health, sleep and mood
- Forms filled in and signed at the visit
What to bring
- The sports or camp form
- Glasses or contacts, if they wear them
Meet us before you choose
A free 15-minute visit with one of our doctors, in the office or by video. Ask about how we work, after-hours care, or anything else on your mind.
What happens
- A walk through the office, if you come in person
- Answers about appointments, the nurse line and records
- No exam, no charge, no pressure
What to bring
- Your questions
- Your baby's due date, if you're expecting
